For some babies, cradled in loving arms or under the touch of a loving hand are the only ways they can fall asleep. Thankfully, Nested Bean created medically backed, safe products that promote independent sleeping. With its Zen Swaddle® and Zen Sack gently simulating a parent’s touch by using lightly weighted pads, both you and the entire clan can sleep peacefully.

What’s more, Nested Bean will be at the upcoming New York Baby Show on May 20 and 21, at Pier 94.

The nation’s biggest show for expectant and new families, the New York Baby Show is a wonderful family-friendly mega-event featuring everything to do with maternity, baby, and toddler. From top products to trusted parenting experts, the New York Baby Show welcomes thousands of expectant and new parents from New York City, the Tri-State area, and beyond!

Tickets to the New York Baby Show are $30 per family, and $20 per individual.

We spoke with a member of the Nested Bean team, Christina Alario, Marketing & PR Coordinator, to learn more about the brand and what new parents can expect at the New York Baby Show.

For someone unfamiliar with Nested Bean, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

Nested Bean was formed with the purpose of helping parents care for their newborns with intuitive, medically backed, and safe products. We live by our motto: Sleep for One, Peace for All!

Tell us about Nested Bean’s background. When did it start and how has it evolved since then?

Our story is Manasi’s story. Founder and president Manasi Gangan came up with the concept of the Zen Swaddle® when her second son could only sleep in her arms or under the touch of her palm on his chest. In her desperation for sleep, she placed a small beanbag toy on her sleeping son’s chest in place of her palm—and he kept sleeping!

Manasi was passionate about finding a solution to this common parental challenge for all the other sleep-deprived parents of the world. Thus, Manasi developed a garment that could simulate a mother’s touch, which passed at the safety lab with flying colors and received a huge thumb up from pediatric pulmonologists.

Nested Bean was formed in 2012 with the release of its flagship product the Zen Swaddle®. It has since developed the first touch, simulating infant sleeping bag that offers the same touch technology as the Zen Swaddle®, but for even more independent sleep. Revealed in the spring of 2015, the Zen Sack™ has been a hit with our Zen Swaddle® fans, as well as new customers who are transitioning from any swaddle.

What are the most popular and/or newest products from Nested Bean?

In Fall 2016, we launched our new premier line for both the Zen Swaddle® and Zen Sack. The new premier prints feature stunning watercolor inspired designs like Deepsea Divers and Lovestruck, which parents love. These premier prints are featured on our new, ultra-soft 70% bamboo, 30% cotton fabric blend. We can’t wait to give consumers a chance to see and feel these luxurious upgrades for themselves and get them excited for new surprises that will be coming in 2017!

What sets Nested Bean apart in the baby marketplace?

Our innovative concept of simulating a mother’s touch by applying gentle pressure using lightly weighted pads placed strategically in the body of the garment is unique to Nested Bean’s products and backed by science. NICUs all over the country use simulated touch to help rehabilitate babies suffering from disease, growth problems, and drug withdrawal. We are the first company to bring that medically backed technology to the public.

What can parents expect to see from Nested Bean at the New York Baby Show?

We are excited to reveal, NEW prints for our Zen Sack™ Classic line that will now come in our already popular, Stardust print. Also, we will be showing for the first time our adorable new chick characters that are on the front of every product, exclusive to the Classic line of our sleep sacks. We cannot wait to share the new look with families at the New York Baby Show.
