For someone unfamiliar with Cassiope Woven, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

“Always go with your passions. Never ask if it’s realistic or not,” said Deepak Chopra.

Babywearing was always as much about fostering a healthy relationship with my children while being hands-free when needed as it was about expressing myself with the designs and art in the wraps and carriers that I wore. I wanted to combine my love of art with my passion for babywearing. To that end, I created wraps and ring slings that are truly works of art.

Tell us about Cassiope Woven’s background. When did Cassiope Woven start and how has it evolved since then?

There really wasn’t a defining moment that started Cassiope; the idea was a dream in my heart that grew into something that I just couldn’t ignore. I began to work on designs that I wanted to wear myself. After talking with my husband about my ideas and desire to create Cassiope, I realized that the only thing stopping me was myself. I knew that if I wanted to see my dream become a reality, I had to step out on faith. So that’s what I did.

Cassiope started as a few fanciful designs that came to life on the loom. Watching that process was nothing short of exhilarating. And seeing babies wrapped up in them has been more rewarding than I could have ever expected. My fan base has also grown more quickly than I expected, and my chatter group is such a warm and fun place to hang out.

What started as simply a wrap company has grown into ring slings and even non-babywearing products. We also offer snuggly blankets, hand-made ceramic coffee mugs, and t-shirts.

What are the most popular and newest products from Cassiope Woven?

Our most popular and newest products are one in the same: ring slings. We are now offering ready-made ring slings of every new wrap released through our partner brick and mortar stores (also available online). We find that ring slings are an accessible way to venture into the babywearing world, but are best partnered with hands-on teaching not available online.

A close second are our blankets that sport our most popular pattern, Hadara.

What sets Cassiope Woven apart in the baby marketplace?

Supporting American jobs is very important to me. I enjoy working with and supporting small businesses, including several work-from-home mothers. Knowing the working conditions and fair compensation of employees aiding in product production is an integral part of Cassiope Woven.

What can parents expect from Cassiope Wovenat the New York Baby Show?

We are bringing our popular ring slings in some fun new colors, but look out for a few special things as well!
