We caught up with Elise Meyer Ring, the Senior Marketing Director of Evenflo, to learn more about what’s new with them and what parents can expect from them at the New York Baby Show!

For someone unfamiliar with the culture of Evenflo Feeding how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

In a nutshell, our mission is to provide the resources and products parents need to feed their babies with confidence and love. We believe all moms, dads, and babies deserve the best feeding solutions regardless of wealth, status, or community. So, we’re constantly striving to improve our products while still keeping them in an accessible price range – because what good are great products if you can’t afford them? That is how we work to be every baby’s advocate and every parent’s ally.

As for our core offerings, we live the phrase “do one thing and do it well.” For us, that one thing is infant feeding, so we obsess over breast pumps and pump accessories, breast pads, bottles and transitional cups.

What’s the background of the company? When did it start? How has it evolved over time?

Evenflo has been around for over 90 years, and has always been synonymous with both infant feeding and baby care products, but the Feeding portion was acquired by Kimberly Clark Mexico in 2012 and became its own separate company, Evenflo Feeding, Inc. This has allowed us to focus fully on feeding as well as develop our own internal culture; it’s a small company, made up of people who truly care about the footprint we leave in the world. We’re the ones talking to customers online, going to the consumer shows and meeting moms, and making the decisions, so it’s all integrated and organic. Many of us are parents, so we get to do our market research on ourselves and our kids! For example, our breastfeeding brand manager, Lauren, had her first baby a year ago, and it’s been awesome seeing her breastfeed successfully using our products, and seeing her daughter transition onto our cups… it makes what we do feel so much more personal and intuitive.

What are the most popular or newest products and services from Evenflo Feeding?

We’re really excited about our Evenflo Advance Double Electric Breast Pump. There are so many great features that come standard with even the most basic model: it’s an easy-to-clean closed system, meaning that no breastmilk gets into the tubing; it comes with several different flange sizes to make sure moms can get the proper fit; and it has 32 settings to adjust speed and suction. Also, when you buy one of our pumps, you get access to a series of educational videos done by Shari Criso, IBCLC, CNM, RN which help with everything from finding the right flange fit to going back to work.

In our toddler division, our most popular cup is still the Tilty, which has an internal angle that allows kids to drink without doing that extreme head tilt they have to do with other sippy cups. It’s seriously the transitional cup to end all transitional cups – this thing ROCKS. I’m also loving our Sip and Seek line, which you have to see to appreciate. It’s like a toy combined with an insulated cup, with scenes that change as you twist the bottom…kids flip out about it.

What sets Evenflo Feeding apart from other feeding companies?

Two things, I think: first, that we are a  small, women-led company, mostly made up of parents, but that also has the history and staying power of the Evenflo brand behind it. And secondly, that our products are high quality and innovative, at an affordable price point. We want all parents to feel like they can give their babies the best, even if money is tight–and we’ll continue to develop new products that serve this purpose.

What can parents expect to see from Evenflo Feeding at the New York Baby Show?

First and foremost our INCREDIBLE team. Sakita, Sarah, and Lauren will all be there with me to talk with everyone (and once you meet us, you’ll see why we are special). Second, our new products will be on display and we will be there to share why they are awesome. Third, our head IBCLC and baby expert, Shari Criso, will be with us and also speaking both days. It is something you just can’t miss. She’s phenomenal. We can’t wait–it’s our favorite event of the year.
