Courtney Barry, Child Passenger Safety Advocate for Chicco

Courtney Barry got involved with child passenger safety in 2004 and has been passionate about doing her part to keep little ones safer in the car ever since. She has been an instructor for 14 years and enjoys helping people learn the benefits of using a car seat correctly. As an advocate, Courtney is privileged to partner with Chicco to bring real world issues and solutions to the table with innovative products.

Karolina Belwal, Founder, AfterThird

Karolina Belwal is the founder of AfterThird. She is a mom of two amazing little humans who teach her and challenge her daily. Karolina’s experience becoming a parent inspired her to found AfterThird. She was shocked by how unprepared she felt when she had her firstborn even though she had done “the right things” to prepare. After talking to many parents she realized her experience was not unique, and AfterThird was born. AfterThird is on a mission to better support parents in this major life transition. They are a curated community of amazing local birth community experts. They are also a platform of great information for parents. Karolina has an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies in Economics at the College of William and Mary. Her professional background is in strategy for large corporations.

Jenifer Buice, LCCE, CBE – Lamaze International

Jen Buice has been supporting families as a childbirth educator, breastfeeding counselor, and birth doula for 12 years in and around New York City. She came to this work after the births of her two children, which brought her to an understanding of the essential role of caring support and empowering education before, during, and after childbirth. Jen loves sharing her enthusiasm for all things birth-related with her students and clients, and is committed to improving maternity care in collaboration with her dedicated colleagues all over the world. 

Robin Gibson Douthit

Robin Gibson-Douthit, LCCE – Lamaze International

Robin has been educating and supporting pregnant women and their families as a childbirth educator for over a decade. She has taught childbirth preparation and newborn care classes in hospitals, pediatric offices and privately. As a Lam­­aze International certified educator, Robin is passionate about teaching Lamaze’s Healthy Birth Practices that are the foundation of Lamaze’s philosophy.  Her desire is to empower and inspire women who are preparing to give birth in a way that allows them to advocate for themselves with confidence and reach for the best birthing experience possible. Robin is also a Certified Birth Doula through DONA International and a Certified Lactation Counselor through the Healthy Children Project

Natalie Diaz

Natalie Diaz, Twiniversity

Natalie Diaz founded Twiniversity, the world’s leading support network for multiple birth families, in 2009. She’s become the global influencer for this small niche community. Chad Ekstrom

Chad Ekstrom, Kanga Care

Chad Ekstrom has been changing cloth diapers for over 11 years. Fathering five amazing kiddos has proven to make Chad a bit of an expert in the cloth diaper community. From soup to nuts, Chad has supported Julie (wife to Chad, founder and CEO of Kanga Care, and owner of multiple diaper patents) from the early days of cutting and tracing fabric while making diapers at home, to current day developing of Kanga Care’s international presence by partnering with distributors near and far.

Debra Flashenberg

Debra Flashenberg, Founder, The Prental Yoga Center

Founder and Director of the Prenatal Yoga Center, Deb is a certified labor support doula, Lamaze Childbirth Educator, certified prenatal yoga instructor, and mother-of-two.

Kate Jordan-Downs, Director of Education Programs at KinderCare Education

With 12 years of experience in childhood development and education, Kate oversees KinderCare’s curriculum development and classroom implementation of inclusive practices. She holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Inclusive Education and Curriculum. Each day she works to empower KinderCare’s 26,700 teachers and make sure every child has access to a great education.

Jada Shapiro, Birth Day Presence, boober

Jada Shapiro is the founder of boober (getboober.com), where new parents go for expert, same-day, in-person lactation support and Birth Day Presence (birthdaypresence.com), NYC’s most trusted source for doulas and childbirth classes which has supported over 10,000 families, since 2002. She is a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, birth photographer, and mother. Jada has assisted hundreds of births for first-time parents, A-list celebrities, and everyone in between. She has also worked with thousands of families in the classroom and advises leading actors about childbirth and breastfeeding for major films. A media expert on childbirth, lactation, and newborn parenting, Jada is regularly sought out for insight and information by major media outlets.

Lance Somerfeld & Matt Schneider, City Dads Group

Lance Somerfeld and Matt Schneider are the Co-Founder of City Dads Group. They both reside in New York City with their families. Lance and Matt frequently contribute to the conversation about modern fatherhood, work-life balance, shifting gender roles, and brands’ marketing to dads. They have appeared on local and national television, including CNN, Fox News, and the TODAY Show.

Dr. Robert Titzer, Infant Learning Company

Dr. Robert Titzer is an infant researcher and the founder of the Infant Learning Company and Your Baby Can Learn!, a popular early language enhancement program. It is a multisensory, interactive program that uses a scientific approach to help infants and toddlers learn receptive, expressive, and written language.  

Simone Toomer, AfterThird

Simone Toomer is a birth and postpartum doula, and lactation counselor, and childbirth educator and doula educator/mentor for her certifying organization Doula Trainings International. Her current passion lies in nurturing families and bridging the gap between her community work and passion for social justice and advocacy. Simone is a Brooklyn based mother of two who enjoys making memories with her family.

Chantal Traub, AfterThird  

Chantal Traub is a certified active birth doula, childbirth educator, pre/postnatal yoga teacher and MUTU® Systems trainer. She has been assisting expecting families in the New York Metro area since 2003. Chantal created her unique workshop, Pushing Power to help educate, inform and empower expecting parents to push effectively and prepare the pelvic floor for a functional and easeful delivery and optimal and full recovery postpartum. Chantal is passionate about helping expecting parents to prepare both body and mind for a positive birth experience and adjust to the emotional, physical and psychological demands of parenthood. Chantal resides in Brooklyn with her husband and 2 children.

Rachel Welch, AfterThird

Rachel Welch is the creator of Revolution Motherhood, a doctor-recommended fitness method that integrates yoga, pilates, barre, and pelvic physical therapy to teach women how to safely heal postpartum issues such as diastasis, prolapse and incontinence.
