For someone unfamiliar with the culture of Love To Dream, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?
The mission as it is described in the company’s Mission Statement is: “Finding a better way through innovation for parents & infants, by creating products & services that will enhance their everyday lives.”
Love To Dream, HQ in Sydney, Australia, distributed in the United States by Regal Lager, Inc, offers the Love To Dream 3 Stage Sleep System, consisting of the Swaddle UP, the 50/50 Transition and the Nuzzlin and InVenta Sleep Bags.
What’s the background of the company? When did it start? How has it evolved over time?
Back in 2008 in Sydney, Australia, Hana Krawchuk gave birth to a little boy. Like many new parents, Hana and her husband faced significant challenges in getting their newborn son to sleep. Challenges that lead to months of sleepless night and hundreds of dollars spent on swaddling products that promised to restore the family’s sleep, but nothing worked.
Hana started to work, using a trial and error method and a mother’s intuition. Her baby, as most babies, slept better with his arms UP, rather than wrapped across his chest or along his sides. Reading and research confirmed that medical science suggests that babies really can sleep better if they have access to their hands for self-soothing. Using her skills and background as an experienced fashion designer, Hana spent many hours, days and weeks, refining, simplifying, sampling and resampling the very first version of the signature Love To Dream Swaddle UP.
Since then hundreds of thousands of parents across the world have come to learn that Love To Dream products really work! The Swaddle UP is sold in around 20 countries, the United States being one, under the Exclusive Distributor of Regal Lager, Inc. The “arms UP” concept has proven to provide the highest level of trust and quality, being a solution to a very real parenting challenge.
What are the most popular and/or newest products from Love To Dream?
Stage 1 (newborn to around 4 months), Swaddle UP in Original, Organic or Lite versions as well as Stage 2 (from around 4-8 months), the 50/50 Transitional Swaddle.
Both the Swaddle UP and the 50/50 have won numerous awards, including the StrollerTraffic/BabyGuyNYC “Cribsie Awards”, The Bump’s “Best of Baby Awards,” Creative Child/Baby Maternity Awards, and the PTPA (Parent Tested/Parent Approved) Awards.
What sets Love To Dream apart from other baby and safety manufacturers?
The main, and very important advantage to swaddle a baby with arms UP, instead of in the traditional way, with arms across the chest or along the sides, is that babies sleep better and longer. This sets the Love To Dream brand apart from more traditional swaddles. To swaddle arms UP makes all the difference, both in how well the products works as such, and also how good it is, when baby is coming close to roll over, that the arms are right there, giving him access to them.
Love To Dream was a “Mother of Invention” concept. Hana so wanted her baby boy to sleep better so the whole family could sleep better. And out of that desire came the brand. Many of the awards won have also focused on innovation. It is not a surprise that many of the awards also have been consumer choices judged by real parents facing real, everyday parenting challenges.
Innovation also shows in how the brand offers products for several stages of baby’s life.
Giving up being swaddled can be a challenging process for a baby. The 50/50 is designed to resolve this transition with a unique “Zip-Off” wing feature to preserve your baby’s sleep routine. Simply unzip one ‘wing’, wait a few nights for your baby to adjust to the sensation of sleeping with one arm released, and then remove the second wing. It’s a gentle transition without trauma.
What can parents expect to see from Love To Dream at the New York Baby Show?
Love To Dream will show their entire line of super soft, comfortable swaddles and sleep bags, designed for children Newborn to around 36 months/3 years. The line includes the Swaddle UP Original, Organic and Lite (Stage 1), the 50/50 Transitional swaddle (Stage 2), and the Nuzzlin and InVenta Sleep Bags (Stage 3). The Swaddle UP and the 50/50 stands out as they are so different from traditional swaddling methods, being easier, safer and babies can self-soothe, not possible for babies being swaddled with arms across the chest or along the side.
